Leadership renewal in MHA

THE Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) announced a renewal of leadership and changes in senior home team appointments on Wednesday.
Mr Khoo Boon Hui, currently the Commissioner of Police, will be appointed Senior Deputy Secretary of the MHA on Feb 1 next year. The 55-year-old will hand over command of his post to Mr Ng Joo Hee, the current Director of Prisons, on the same day.
Mr Khoo, who has spent 12-1/2 years at the helm of the Singapore Police Force, will remain in the Administrative Service, where he is a Senior Administrative Officer Grade 5.
In a press statement, the MHA said that Mr Khoo will, inter alia, oversee 'the strategic development of MHA's regional and international collaboration and capacity development initiatives and projects across the Home Team departments'. He will concurrently fulfill his responsibilities as President of Interpol.
Mr Ng, the incoming Commissioner of Police, has served 24 years in the SPF. In this time, he has held various key appointments, including that of Deputy Director Criminal Investigation Department and Director Police Intelligence Department.
Mr Soh Wai Wah, 46, the current Chief of Staff in the Police will be appointed Director of Prisons on Jan 1 next year.
